What to do when a lid match is missing
A practical route for unreadable codes, unavailable replacements and discontinued containers.
An empty search result is not a fit recommendation
Our starter catalog covers a limited set of documented models. If your code is absent, it means we do not have a verified record. It does not establish that a replacement exists, that it has been discontinued, or that a nearby code will fit.
Check the manufacturer’s current replacement route
Bring the full code, brand and line to the manufacturer catalog or support service. Ask whether the replacement is available for that exact model in your region. A photo can help identify the container, but a photograph alone should not be treated as a precise seal measurement.
The Glasslock example
Glasslock directs buyers to the code engraved on the container and its replacement menu. Its FAQ says that when a model is absent from that menu, a replacement is not currently carried. Do not convert a matching-looking shape into a verified replacement.
When shopping elsewhere
Look for a seller’s explicit list of supported container codes and clear return terms. Save the listing details at the time you order. If the only claim is “fits most,” consider the match unresolved. A damaged container rim also needs separate assessment; buying a new lid does not repair the base.
