Build one replacement-lid list for a mixed drawer

A worked example with three container codes, six missing lids and a check against misleading multipacks.

Start with the containers you will keep

Imagine a drawer containing three intact Pyrex 7200 round containers, two Pyrex 7201 round containers and one Pyrex 7210 rectangular container. All six need lids. This is a planning example, not a product bundle offered for sale.

Read the complete code on each container before making the list. Leave any container with an unreadable code out of a confirmed order until its identity is resolved. Capacity and shape help you cross-check a code, but they do not replace it.

Enter the three records

Container codeDocumented sizeLids needed
Pyrex 72002-cup round3
Pyrex 72014-cup round2
Pyrex 72103-cup rectangular1

Open the tool, search each exact code, add its record and set the quantity. You can also enter the codes on separate lines in the batch box, then edit the quantities. The result should contain three distinct records totaling six lids. Copy or print the list before comparing retailer packages.

Read a multipack as individual pieces

A pack described as six replacement lids is not automatically useful for six containers. Compare its contents code by code. A pack containing three 7200 lids and three 7201 lids covers five of the six needs above: it supplies one extra 7201 lid, but no 7210 lid. The rectangular container still needs its own replacement.

Similarly, two-packs of 7200 lids would require two packs to meet a quantity of three, leaving one spare. Count useful lids and spares separately. An unused extra is not a saving unless you have a reasonable use for it.

Do not shorten the code

If another container is labeled Snapware 7201R, keep it as a fourth record. It is not the same documented listing as Pyrex 7201. Lid Ledger checks that suffix and brand; it does not convert both to a generic four-cup match. The model-code guide explains the distinction.

Compare the whole order

Use the current merchant price, the number of packages required and delivery charges. This tool deliberately does not present a live price total. Check the exact destination product and pack contents yourself. Review the replacement-versus-new-set comparison if the total approaches the cost of replacing the containers you actually need.

What a finished list does and does not prove

A six-lid list records your need. It does not reserve stock or certify every retailer description. The documented-match reference links the manufacturer evidence. If a listing conflicts with the full code, or a source is unavailable, resolve that discrepancy before buying.
